Developed by John Eastman Neuromuscular Therapy is a healthcare system devoted to the restoration and preservation of well being through the gentle manipulation of the body’s muscular skeletal system and other soft tissue including the fascia. These tissues can become compressed and distorted due to illness, accident or stress related tension.
By correcting the compressions, distortions and imbalances through Neuromuscular Therapy the body’s ability to function better and to heal itself is greatly improved. Not only those fluid systems conveying blood, lymph and cerebrospinal fluid are improved but the nerves which run through the fascia and muscles are effected, enabling them to carry their healing instructions more effectively to all parts of the body.
Illness, accident, mental stress all impact negatively on the nervous system, reducing it’s effectiveness and efficiency. The knock on effect is then a reduction in blood supply which in turn reduces both oxygen and vital nutrition to all the cells of the body. In addition, muscle and fascia tension reduce lymphatic drainage making it more difficult for the body to eliminate toxins and waste materials. This in turn prolongs inflammation, restriction and immobility around joints which then increases wear and tear and reduces overall freedom of movement.
Neuromuscular Therapy unlike other forms of physical therapy is both gentle and very effective. Rather than forcefully challenging areas of tension and fixation and trying to “make them to let go”, Neuromuscular Therapy releases tension and fixation gently and naturally and brings about an adjustment that leaves the body deeply relaxed, better aligned, with an overall improvement in function and well being.
John has treated patients in their late 70s who are more fit and more mobile now then they were in their 50s. "Age and state of health is no barrier to improvement."
"I treat professional athletes whose injuries used to result in whole seasons being lost due to their injuries and who now heal in a fraction of the time. In addition they are far less likely to re-injure themselves."
john has taken people on walkers, crutches and walking sticks and gotten them to where they are now able to for walk miles. It is simply patience, persistence and Neuromuscular Therapy."
